Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Specifications for the Printed Circuit Board Industry" (hereinafter referred to as "the "Regulations") and the "Interim Measures for the Administration of Printed Circuit Board Industry Regulations"
1. "Regulations" encourage the development of the printed circuit board industry, build an industrial park with complete supporting equipment, and guide enterprises to retreat into the park. Strictly control the new printed circuit board project with low technical level and simple expansion of production capacity.
2. In terms of production scale and process technology, the “Regulations” require enterprises to have independent production, sales and service capabilities of printed circuit board products; R&D expenditure is not less than 3% of the main business income of the year, encouraging enterprises to achieve high-tech Technical enterprise qualification or R&D institutions and technical centers above the provincial level; The products produced have technical patents; the actual output of the enterprise in the previous year is not less than 50% of the actual production capacity.
3. "Regulations" also puts forward requirements on the per capita output value of existing enterprises, the investment scale and ROI of new construction and renovation projects, and the technology of enterprises and projects. In terms of quality management, enterprises should establish and continuously improve the measurement management system, with detection capabilities such as electrical testing, dimensional measurement, and automatic optical inspection (except for single panel). Encourage enterprises to be equipped with high-low temperature cycle, temperature shock, damp heat and other environmental adaptability test capabilities, and pass the measurement management system certification.
PCB is the mother of electronic products, also known as printed circuit boards. The global PCB market is expected to reach US$68.8 billion in 2022, with a compound growth of 4.0% from 2017 to 2022. . In recent years, with the global electronics industry shifting to China, the focus of the PCB industry has also shifted to the mainland. Before 2000, 70% of global PCB production value was distributed in Europe, America (mainly North America) and Japan. With the continuous transfer of production capacity, the Asian region has become the main global PCB supply base, with a total output value close to 90% of the global total, while the mainland region has become the region with the highest PCB production capacity in the world.
From the internal structure of the PCB industry, high-end PCB products have large room for growth, among which multi-layer boards, FPC (flexible circuit boards), and HDI (high-density circuit boards) are the main force in the market. In 2017, the total of multi-layer boards, FPC (flexible circuit boards), and HDI (high-density circuit boards) accounted for as much as 74%.
From the perspective of PCB demand side, the cycle of PCB products is mainly related to terminal requirements. At present, communication base stations, automotive electronics, and consumer electronics are the main application areas for driving the PCB industry to grow steadily.
In terms of automotive electronics, the annual growth rate of more than 15% has been maintained in recent years, which in turn has driven the automotive PCB market to continue to rise.
In terms of communication base stations, in 2018, the three major operators added about 500,000 4G base stations, and the total number of base stations has exceeded 4.4 million. It is estimated that the number of new base stations will not exceed 300,000 in 2019. In view of this, it is estimated that the total investment of 4G networks of the three major operators in 2019 is about 99 billion yuan, a decrease of 6% compared with 2018. At the same time, China's 5G construction investment will continue to grow, reaching 705 billion yuan. Compared with 2G~4G communication system, 5G will use 3000~5000MHz and millimeter wave frequency band more, and require data transmission rate to increase by more than 10 times. 5G commercial will use ultra-dense small base station, and the number of base stations will be 4G base station 2 ~3 times. The construction of a new generation of communication infrastructure will bring demand for large-area, high-frequency, high-level PCBs.
In terms of consumer electronics, first, high-end intelligent machine innovation and upgrade, comprehensive screen and 3Dsensing and other innovative appearances and functional parts directly increased the demand for FPC board single machine. Second, the service and storage market in the computer field began to improve, driving the output value of the entire computer system. Further expansion. Since the cloud, data center, and artificial intelligence currently require huge storage space and powerful computing power, the scale of the service/storage market will grow rapidly with the gradual penetration of the Internet of Things. The PCB for computer is mainly used for the 6~16-layer multilayer board and memory chip package substrate for graphics cards. The pulling effect of these two consumer electronics fields on PCB production will continue.
